Dr Alex Giannopoulos

Originally from Adelaide, Dr Alexander Giannopoulos (Alex) has brought his passion for dentistry to the Riverland, joining Tankard Dental in his first year of practice after graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Honours. During university, Alex gained extensive clinical experience through diverse placements across general and specialist settings in South Australia and beyond, setting a strong foundation for his dental career.

With a keen interest in all aspects of dentistry—especially surgery and restorative treatments like crowns and bridges—Alex is committed to helping patients achieve their oral health goals with compassionate and comprehensive care.

Outside of dentistry, Alex is all about staying active—running, swimming, weightlifting, and hiking are regular parts of his routine (he’s even training for his first marathon!). He’s also a music enthusiast, part-time DJ, and a big fan of good food, wine, and travel. For downtime, you’ll find him watching a great show, reading, or spending time with friends and family.
